What Picbye stores

Picbye stores photo identifiers, your keep and set-aside choices, undo history, and preferences locally in the app’s container on your device. This information is used to resume your sorting session. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings.

Photo access and deletion

You choose which photos Picbye can access. The app reads permitted photos and metadata, such as date and any location already attached to a photo. It does not access your live location. A left swipe is only a local choice; deletion requires your explicit batch submission and the system’s confirmation. iCloud Photos may sync confirmed deletions across your devices.

Network activity

Picbye has no account system, advertising SDK, third-party analytics or photo-upload service. Apple may download iCloud assets when you view them. If you enable city and area names, approximate photo coordinates, rounded to two decimal places, are sent to Apple’s geocoding service. This feature is off by default. Resolved names are cached in memory, not sent to Picbye servers.

Your controls

Change photo permissions in system Settings. Turn off place-name lookup in Picbye Settings. Reset a sorting round to clear its local choices; this does not delete your photos. Uninstalling the app removes its local container, subject to Apple backup and restore behavior.
